Day 1
Today is the day that I begin my journey to improve my health and loose the weight that I have struggled with for many years. I have never in my life been, what I would consider "In Shape", but 5-6 years ago I was running on a daily basis and was able to maintain a comfortable weight of 165-170lbs. Since then I have steadily put on close to 40 lbs and I'm currently at 208lbs!!! This is just not acceptable to me any longer! The hardest part has been that its not as though I sit around and do nothing all day. I feel like I am fairly athletic. I play Ultimate Frisbee 1 to 2 times a week and in the past 8mths I have done 4 Triathlons and three 5K runs!!! So, I have created this blog to both track my progress and to keep me motivated as it will hold me accountable to what I am eating and how much I am exercising. The exercise plan is to use a combination of P90X and Running, since I am also going to be training for a half marathon in Feb. My goal is to work out 1-2 hours per day at least 5 days a week. My diet is nothing too fancy, just cut out the really bad stuff (i.e. sodas, pizza, cheeseburgers, and fried chicken) and reduce, not eliminate, my carb intake until I loose at least 15-20lbs and then I will begin bringing carbs back into my diet to keep my body fueled as my work outs progressively get longer and more intense. I plan to update my blog once per day with everything that happened the day before and the plan for the current day. I will try to post Pics on a weekly basis to show the progress I am making.
So, lets get things started!
My starting weight is 208lbs and today I plan to start my diet with a protein shake for Bfast and then probably a cheese stick for snack and a ham sandwich for lunch. Then I will have another snack in the afternoon and I am thinking pork roast for dinner! Yum! My workout today will either be a P90X workout or I will hit the gym tonight. Below are my DAY 1 PHOTOS!! Please feel free to send me comments anytime! I would love to hear some feed back and encouragement! Till tomorrow!
I am sitting here eating a big bowl of Ben and Jerry's icecream as I read this . . . and feeling guilty :) Good luck with the weight loss plan. I have done a few P90X workouts and am currently trying to get through INSANITY workouts . . . they are so difficult!
ReplyDeleteOH Ben and Jerry's in the best! My favorite is Karamel Sutra! Unfortunately I can't touch that stuff again till I at least drop the 40 lbs! I have heard the Insanity workouts are tough. I am hopeing to try them after I lose all this weight! Thank you Raissa for the commments and the support!
